TREATMENT OF TUBERCULOSIS IN A MARGINALIZED GROUP OF ROMA IN THE PREŠOV REGION IN THE BEGINING OF SARS COV-2 PERIOD
Original language description
The incidence and epidemiology of tuberculosis is stabilized in Slovakia, which is why Slovakia is often cited as a model country for other eurozone countries. Vaccination with the BCG vaccine, which was mandatory for children until 2012, is used as part of prevention. The most used method of diagnosis are IGRA tests, followed by culture and microscopic methods of diagnosis. In Slovakia, the incidence of tuberculosis is highest in the Prešov and Košice regions, whose value is at the level of 10-12% in 2021. It occurs most often in marginalized Roma settlements, where living and social conditions are deteriorated.
