Original language description
The prevalence of obesity was inversely associated with the education of individuals - this was more pronounced in the Czech Republic and Poland, countries with higher Gross National Product (GNP) than Russia. In addition, obesity was more common in Russian women than in Czech and Polish women, while Russian men were less obese than Czech or Polish men. The social gradient in obesity is more likely to find a reverse association between socioeconomic status and prevalence of obesity in the more westernized countries with higher population income.

Czech description
Výskyt obezity byl nepřímo úměrný vzdělání jednotlivce, a to výrazněji v České republice a Polsku, s vyšším hrubým národním produktem, než v Rusku. Navíc, obezita byla častější u ruských žen než u žen českých a polských, avšak muži v Rusku byli méně obézní než v České republice a Polsku. Nepřímá úměra mezi socioekonomickým postavením a prevalencí obezity je pravděpodobnější v zemích s vyšším příjmem u obyvatelstva.
