An Unusual 10th Century Female Burial from Denisova Street in Olomouc
Original language description
Presentation of an unusual find of human skeleton remains from the 10th century with clear evidence of posmortal manipulation Anthropological analysis determined the gender and height of the individual and proved, that the grave was reopened several months after the burial and subsequently some parts of the body were transferred into a new grave with no apparent reason. The unusual position of skeletal remains and the isolation of the grave indicate a rather uncommon burial, the kind usually connected with preventive measures against vampirism or revenance. Although we would like to avoid such hypothesis, we are rather unable to do it.
