Micromorphological characteristics of floors and open site areas in context of medieval household in Opava; city Centre (former Radniční Street)

  • Original language description

The study provides results of processing of micromorphological samples received during archaeological excavation in Opava (former Radniční street) from different archaeological situations. The analysis discovered diferencies between samples from floor levels of medieval basement (samples nr. 1, 2 and 4) and from open site floors (samples nr. 3 and 6). There were no modifications to the surfaces documented from the open site. The floor of the oldest basement was evidently swept, the later basement was modified only by the application of renovation layers. The study clearly pointed to the fact that the macroscopic identification of the so-called floor sets has much greater potential.
