Efficiency and its calculation in connection with public authorities
Original language description
The contribution concentrates on a relationship of public authorities and efficiency. The base is given by description of efficiency concepts in literature. Then the concept of scale efficiency was chosen to be demonstrated in the text because this concept is very closely connected to public sector. The outputs are given them by the law. On the contrary the inputs should be managed by the single authorities. However at present they are not motivated to be efficient (briefly the efficiency is proportionof given inputs and got outputs). The main reason is that the efficiency is not calculated. So this contribution offers the way of its calculation Data Envelopment Analysis. It is multiple data test that can compare several inputs and several outputs. Production curve is got. Then it is moved and envelopment curve which is also curve of efficiency. The contribution shows the use of the method applied on public health authorities.
