Comparison of Czech and German Information Systems Used for Exploration of Geological Situation in Civil Engineering Practice
Original language description
The main aim of publication is to compare the information systems of the institutes of Czech Geological Survey and German Federal Institute for Geosciences and Natural Resources from a point of view of information which is needed for civil engineering purposes. The information systems are a base of the modern society. Thanks to them we are able to apply older exploratory works in order to evaluate currently solved projects. An information system becomes a strategic tool to evaluate exploratory works but also for land-use planning. The Czech Geological Survey information systems consists of the database of Borehole Explorations, the Final Reports Archives and the Inventory of Landslides. These three databases are fundamental for civil engineering purposes. The German Federal Institute for Geosciences and Natural Resources information system contains similar databases. It deals with the database of boreholes and the archives of scientific reports and publications.
