Original language description
These days, the environmental impact of transport is one of the crucial issues in terms of transport means operation. The research study presents the calculation procedures as well as relevant comparison of GHG (so-called greenhouse gases) production between two selected transport modes. EN 16258:2012 as the European Standard was implemented to specify the emission intensity values. This standard is considered to be a fully-fledged part of European policy to struggle against transport emission productions. Results achieved emphasize the final environmental impact values of transport operation expressed by means of emission intensity units to a number of carried passengers. Thus, individual calculation values by the EN 16258:2012 standard are compared between two transport modes, specifically railway and road passenger transport.
