EXPERIENCES AND NEW TRENDS IN TEACHING AUTOMATION AND INFORMATICS AT FACULTIES NOT PRIMARILY INVOLVED IN COMPUTER SCIENCE
Original language description
In this paper experiences with the teaching of informatics and automation at faculties not primarily involved in computer science are presented. The aim of the education is to prepare graduates who are not just "pure" programmers and have wider knowledge to be applicable mainly to manufacturing companies. Graduates, in addition to computer science and automation, also get a basic overview of management, marketing, project management, business economics, and process management. From our experience, we know that companies in industry ask for this type of graduates. This paper brings analyse the requirements of practice for IT graduates and the view of graduates on lessons. The discussion about pros and cons of using digital media is also included. Experiences with using videoconference system and robots Bioloid for support teaching of programming, automation or math and also remote access to laboratory summarize new trends in teaching automation.
