Design of Incentive Parking Lots in the Region – Conception, Technology and Pricing Policy
Original language description
The aim of this paper is to familiarize the reader with the issue of designing incentive parking lots in regions with a focus on the basic parameters of the concept of parking, used technologies (applications) in incentive parking lots and the parking pricing policy. The paper first introduces individual types of incentive parking lots and describes the main factors / conditions which any new design of the incentive parking lot must deal with. Furthermore, the paper briefly describes technologies for detection of parking space occupancy in the parking lot and ITS applications for the reservation of free parking spaces. Selected technologies and concepts of parking are presented on concrete practical examples. The final part of the paper summarizes the individual advantages and disadvantages for the use of these incentive parking lot systems in large cities and evaluates especially the economic and environmental benefits that these transport constructions bring to their regions.
