The authors aim is to verify, evaluate and discuss the functionality and content of the developed methodology of adaptation of small and medium enterprises in the service sector to implement the principles, procedures, methods and tools of Company 4.0 and its applicability in business practice, focusing on small and medium enterprises in knowledge-intensive services and assess selected negative and positive impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on business processes depending on the issues addressed.
