Online Reputation of Selected E-Commerce Entities Through the Lens of Pandemic and Post-Pandemic Comparison
Original language description
The main goal of the contribution is to present the results of a comparative analysis of the development of the level of online reputation of the most important industry representatives from among the electronic commerce entities operating on the Slovak market across the individual phases of the pandemic. The reference point for comparison is the measured levels of individual determinants of online reputation for specific entities at the time of the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. State values represent the levels of individual determinants of online reputation measured at the time of the lifting of the last pandemic-related restrictions in the second quarter of 2023. The same methodology of extended sentiment analysis was used for both measurements. By comparing two measurements, at the time of onset, and at the time of retreat of the COVID-19 pandemic, we find that most subjects notice a significant improvement in the basic sentiment level of search results within the Google ecosystem over the monitored period. On the other hand, however, the analyzed subjects recorded during pandemic a real decline in the dynamic side of online reputation created by reputation determinants of a more complex nature. The results indicate that from the point of view of basic online reputation optimization, it is possible to view the three years of the pandemic period as an accelerator of digital transformation. However, continuous research is needed to compile more complex development trends.
