Laboratory reconstruction of personal doses in interventional cardiology/radiology
Original language description
People working in interventional cardiology represent one of the most occupationally exposed groups. By the ICRP 120 recommendation these workers should be equipped with two personal dosimeters, one of them worn on the neck outside the protective collarand the second one on the trunk under the protective apron. It is proved that this double dosimetry method provides more precise estimate of effective dose. A common attitude to estimate eye lens dose with help of standard personal dosimeters worn on thebody usually calibrated in the quantities Hp(0.07) or Hp(10), where it is supposed to wear the dosimeter in the position representative enough to assess the irradiation of the eye lens. Another possibility, how to determine eye lens dose, is to use a special dosimeter worn in the proximity of the eye.
