A new species of Takulumena (Orchidaceae) with glabrous petals from Colombia
Original language description
Takulumena garayi, a new orchid species from Colombia is described and illustrated. This species has glabrous petals, a characteristic not common in Takulumena. Usually, representatives of the genus have ciliate, papillate or hispid petals. Morphologically, the novelty resembles the Ecuadorian T. tungurahuae but it is distinguished by a sessile, transversely elliptic lip with crenate margins and thickened veins. An updated key to identification of Colombian Takulumena species is provided.
