Primary metabolomics dataset for European beech (Fagus sylvatica) acclimatization across altitude, canopy light, and season
Original language description
This dataset contains the primary leaf metabolomics data to evaluate how European beech acclimatizes to natural environmental gradients of altitude, within-canopy light, and season in Central European mountain forests. It contains complete dataset of all detected metabolites, metabolite annotations (KEGG, MassBank, PlantCyc), and KEGG pathway summaries, together with sample metadata.nnThese data were used to test the individual and interactive effects of altitude, light availability, and season on beech leaf metabolite abundances and pathway-level patterns, as reported in: K. Večeřová, A. Pompeiano, M. Oravec, P. Holub, B. Veselá, M. Escandón, L. Valledor, K. Klem, O. Urban (2025) Environmental metabolomics reveals acclimatization mechanisms of European beech trees to natural altitudinal, light, and seasonal gradients.
