The paper describes new trens in the field of business processes optimisation put together under the term - socioinformatics. It shows its semantic and syntactic meaning. The characteristics of the main developmen periods of process optimisastion represent a basis for this description. It means the path from Industrial Engineering through Information Engineering to the Socioinformatics. Attention is given to the key role of the TOC (Theory of Constraint) methodology in the socioinformatics approach.
