To explore and seYle down the issues related to the apparent gauge dependence of the tunnelling times by inspecting in detail the simplest realizations of the same situation in the realm of sample models such as, e.g., the Abelian Higgs model. In such simplified scenarios the mechanism of the gauge-parameter cancellation in the measurable quantities such as vacuum lifetime should be more accessible to not only a dedicated numerical analysis but, in particular, to a deeper analytic understanding. The role of fermionic degrees of freedom in various frameworks will be explored. To to calculate the full one-loop scalar spectrum of the minimal SO(10) GUT by means of the effective potential methods. To this end, only few rudimentary results have been obtained so far. This information is vital not only for the theoretical assessment of the potential viability of the minimal SO(10) GUT but also for any ultimate quantitative estimate of the proton lifetime. To understand the role of thermal effects in the minimal SO(10) GUT effective potential.

  • Project results evaluation

This project was being realized in the framework of the MOBILITY Activity that aims primarily on establishing and strenghtening ties with foreign research institutions. The control of particular outputs is not implemented by the evalution committee, but the correctness of allocated finances and the adequacy of their use are checked.
