Development of diamond intracellular nanoprobes for oncogen transformation dynamics monitoring in living cells

The goal of the project is to develop a new non-invasive and optical label-free nanotechnology platform for in vitro and in vivo real-time monitoring of (a) living cells modified by oncogenic impact of environmental pollutants, (b) the pharmaco-kinetic of drug/gene-therapeutic processes. This challenging goal will be accomplished by using functionalised nano-sized diamond particle carriers, based on their unique molecular architecture and their particular physical, chemical and biological properties. The nanodioamond (ND) particles are available with tunable sizes in the range of 3-100 nm and with true diamond bonding and structure.
