    Interactive Power Devices for Efficiency in Automotive with Increased Reliability and Safety

    The overall objective of IDEAS project is to develop advanced packaging for power supply components and new generation memory systems having application on Electric and ICE propelled vehicles and aiming at covering aspects not yet addresses in running ENIAC and ARTEMIS Automotive projects. The main novelties introduced through this project are: -reduction of the system complexity of the power supply systems in EV's and future ICE vehicle,-energy saving and increased reliability through advanced power packaging systems, -simplified maintanace of complex systems with distributed sensing and actuating features, -increased safety with particular emphasis on solutions that minimise the risk of fire. Technologically, the project will contribute by making products manufactured in Europe more intelligent, comfortable, safer and energy efficient. Producers of both fully electric cars and advanced ICE propelled vehicles will benefit of the IDEAAS outcomes, by gaining or conslidating a strong market position,through cheaper and more reliable devices.
