    The project aims to design a novel light-matter interface with the potential to surpass the limitations of existing ones in terms of versatility and speed. The combination of collective emission, non-trivial energy dispersions, and complex molecular spectra will lead to photon-mediated interactions and phenomena with no analogue in other setups. The tunability of the interactions will be harnessed to develop novel quantum simulators of frustrated spin models as well as to engineer entangling gates for quantum computation purposes. Besides, by engineering strong wave interference effects, one can improve the figures of merit of quantum memories required for long-distance quantum communication as well as the generation of strongly correlated states of light with metrological relevance, e.g. Fock states.
