Durability and Sustainability of Engineering Constructions

Project goals

This project is dealing with the two aspects of corrosion influence on integrity of steel structures and steel/iron reinforced concrete structures, mainly in transportation infrastructure objects. The first problem considered is that of the direct corrosion of steel structural elements and the influence of environment on enhancing that type of corrosion, as well as measures that should be taken for its prevention. The second aspect is studying the so-called indirect corrosion, i.e. the corrosion of reinforcement within the reinforced concrete structural elements, which could initiate corrosion of the concrete itself, its dropping out from structural element and thus reducing its structural integrity.

    Tento projekt se zabývá dvěma aspekty vlivu koroze na integritu ocelových konstrukcí a železobetonových konstrukcí, zejména na objekty dopravní infrastruktury. Prvním uvažovaným problémem je přímá koroze ocelových prvků a také vliv prostředí na zvyšování účinků tohoto typu koroze, jakož i měření, která by měla být realizována pro prevenci před korozí. Druhým aspektem je studium tzv. nepřímé koroze, tj. koroze výztuže v železobetonových prvcích, která může iniciovat korozi samotného betonu, jeho odpadnutí z konstrukčního prvku a tak redukovat jeho strukturální integritu.
