Cílem projektu je posílení lidských zdrojů ve výzkumu v oblasti bioinformatiky a výpočetní biologie, který poskytne trhu práce odborníky z obou oblastí. K dosažení tohoto cíle bude vytvořen nový výzkumně zaměřený doktorský studijní program Bioinformatika a výpočetní biologie, a to v češtině i angličtině. Program vznikne ve formě doctoral school mezi Lékařskou fakultou UP a Fakultou elektrotechniky a informatiky, VŠB-TUO. Absolventi budou schopni samostatné výzkumné práce zahrnující etapy od získávání dat až po jejich odbornou analýzu a interpretaci. V rámci přípravy studijního programu bude zúročena stávající spolupráce žadatele a partnera projektu ve formě společných publikačních výstupů, výzkumných projektů, workshopů pro postgraduální i pregraduální studenty. Při vytváření a rozvoji studijního programu jsou zapojeni odborníci ze zahraničí.

Project results evaluation
As part of the project there was accredited the Bioinformatics and Computational Biology study program aimed at educating graduates to solve the most demanding tasks in the fields of biology, biochemistry and biomedicine. It is an interdisciplinary doctoral study program of the doctoral school type, which connects and uses the cooperation and expertise of the Faculty of Medicine of the Palacký University in Olomouc in biomedicine and biology and the VSB - Technical University of Ostrava in applied mathematics and informatics. During the preparation of this study program, several short-term foreign internships of internal employees of the recipient and partners took place. During the doctoral study program there was also carried out a six-month research internship for one student.
