Modernization of the doctoral study program in the field of addiction research areas of prevention and treatment of addictive behavior

Project goals

Modernization Ph.D. program for addictology will lead to a deeper and desirable interconnection of teaching and medical and psychosocial research, to improve the quality of research activity that strengthens the National Drug Policy Strategy in the field of applied research. The general objective of the project is to innovate a doctoral study program of addictology in the field of science and research, ie to continuously increase the knowledge, skills and competencies to professionally prepare Ph.D. students in the field of top science. The sub-objectives of the project are in line with current and upcoming changes in bachelor's and master's degree programs to prepare appropriate conditions for launching top-level scientific and research papers (both applied and basic research), especially in the field of eHealth and mHealth applications, (neuroprevention and electronic prevention) and the integration of modern technologies into data collection and analysis. Project activities will also focus on increasing the (bio) statistical competencies so that the data were analyzed by innovative (eg. Modeling effects) processes and applications.

    Modernizace doktorského studijního programu oboru adiktologie v oblastech výzkumu prevence a léčby závislostního chování

    Modernizace Ph.D. programu pro oblast adiktologie povede k hlubšímu a žádoucímu propojení výuky a medicínského a psychosociálního výzkumu, ke zlepšení kvality výzkumné činnosti, která bude v oblasti aplikovaného výzkumu posilovat Národní strategii protidrogové politiky. Obecným cílem projektu je inovovat doktorský studijní program adiktologie v oblasti vědy a výzkumu, tj. kontinuálně zvyšovat znalosti, dovednosti a kompetence studentů Ph.D. studia oboru adiktologie a posílit kapacity akademických pracovníků ve schopnostech vést a odborně připravovat Ph.D. studenty v oblasti špičkové vědy. Dílčími cíli projektu jsou v návaznosti na stávající i chystané změny v bakalářských i magisterských studijních programech oboru) připravit odpovídající podmínky pro zahájení špičkové vědecko-výzkumné práce (na úrovni aplikovaného i základního výzkumu) zejména v oblastech elektronického zdraví (eHealth a mHealth aplikací), diagnostiku a evaluaci, výzkum rehabilitace kognitivních dovedností, dále významnými oblastmi jsou oblast inovativních preventivních intervencí (neuroprevence a elektronická prevence) a zapojení moderních technologií do sběru a analýz dat. Projektové aktivity cílí také na zvyšovaní (bio)statistických kompetencí tak, aby získaná data byla analyzována dle inovativních (např. modelování efektů) postupů a aplikací.

    There was obtained accreditation for the modernized study program Addiction: Specialization in Health Care with a standard duration of study of 4 years, in full-time and combined form of study, with teaching in Czech and English. The modernized doctoral program prepares students for future scientific careers in basic, clinical, applied and other scientific research environments; deals with the issue of addictive substances and non-substance addictions (behavioral addictions). Based on a transdisciplinary perspective and a comprehensive approach to addictions, it emphasizes the acquisition of key knowledge and the development of practical competencies in current research methods, data analysis, research ethics, effective and successful communication of scientific results, and the implementation of evidence-based results of scientific work into practice. It is the only program of its kind in the Czech Republic.
