Cluster 4.0 - Methodology of System Integration
Project goals
This project develops international intersectoral cooperation among innovative companies, academic institutions, and global industrial stakeholders. The consortium is composed of research institutions, CIIRC CTU and DFKI (SRN), and the Czech companies SIDAT and CertiCon, with the support of the transnational corporations Airbus, Škoda Auto and Siemens, with a connection to the National Centre for Industry 4.0. The research topic is one of the most challenging topics in Industry 4.0, namely the system integration and the creation of a unified and flexible software architecture for adaptable manufacturing systems.

Annotation in Czech
Projekt rozvíjí mezinárodní mezisektorovou spolupráci mezi inovativními podniky, akad. pracovišti a globálními prům. hráči. Konsorcium tvoří výzkumné instituce, CIIRC ČVUT a DFKI (SRN), a české firmy SIDAT a CertiCon, s podporou nadnárodních korporací Airbus, Škoda Auto a Siemens, s napojením na Národní centrum Průmyslu 4.0. Výzkumným tématem je jedno z nejnáročnějších v Průmyslu 4.0, a to systémová integrace a vytvoření jednotné flexibilní softwarové architektury pro adaptabilní výrobní systémy.

Project results evaluation
During the project there was acquired instrumentation and IT equipment necessary for the subsequent research and also was formed an expert project team. After that there was carried out a parallel research in several areas. The project brought new knowledge, eg. when testing the communication possibilities of production machines with superior production systems and data collection interfaces; the development of a digital twin in the production process (allowing to analyze data from the real production process); development of a robotic cell for 3D printing; the use of 5G communication to guide robotic systems, etc. The project contributed to the development of research cooperation between the academic and commercial spheres. At the final conference, the research results of the Cluster project with the greatest potential for use in practice, were presented to those interested in the application field. The results were also presented in the form of publication activity.
