    The project successfully connected two research organizations with a leading Czech operator of photonic services (ČD Telematika, a.s.) in an interdisciplinary partnership of laser optics, instrumentation, quantum physics and photonic communication. There were achieved outstanding results in the field of laser cooling of trapped atoms and nanoparticles. Results have been published in the prestigious journals Nature, Phys.Rev.Let. and Optica. New findings have been patented in two national patents. New partnerships with industry were established and international collaboration was deepened by involving the research team in four European projects. The newly built unique infrastructure for the transmission of ultra-precise time signals via photonic links places the Czech Republic among only 8 countries in Europe with such technology.
