Study of the materials based on the conducting polymers by advanced spectroscopic methods

Project goals

Preparation of various materials based on conducting polymers, such as polyaniline or polypyrrole, hybrid materials, colloids, hydrogels and their carbonized analogues, with the goal to control their molecular structure and also its physical properties, e.g., conductivity. The emphasis will be given to the formation and study of the supramolecular structures, nature of the interactions in the hybrid materials, the role of the hydrogen bonding or plasmonic interaction with noble metals. The Fourier-transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopic transmission techniques as well as various reflection techniques, such as attenuated total reflectance (ATR), specular and diffusion reflection will be applied. Depth profiling of layered materials will be studied using photoacoustic cell and the evolution of the infrared spectra using step-scan mode. Thin films will be studied with help of the FTIR microscope and mapping and Raman scattering using various excitation lasers. Mapping with the help of Raman microscope and surface enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) will also be included.

  • Annotation in Czech

Studium hloubkového profilu vrstevnatých materiálů pomocí fotoakustické cely a vývoje infračervených spekter v průběhu oxidace metodou in-situ v step-scan modu. Analýza vrstev pomocí FTIR mikroskopu a mapování. Ramanův rozptyl užitím různých excitačních laserů, mapování pomocí Ramanova mikroskopu a aplikace metody povrchově zesíleného Ramanova rozptylu (SERS).
