Photonics glasses and amorphous films

Project goals

The photonic glasses and thin films formed by amorphous binary and ternary chalcogenides of Ge, As, Sb, Ga and others, pure and doped, will be prepared and studied. Accent will be given to the study of preparation of thin films by pulsed laser depositionand to study of their optical properties. Large attention will be paid to the of photoinduced changes of structure and optical properties, mainly to changes of optical absorption index of refraction, thermal properties etc.The project aims in increasingknowledge and better understanding of photonic materials and in their potential application in optics and optoelectronics, and consequently in other branches of science and industry.

    Fotonická skla a amorfní vrstvy

  • Annotation in Czech

V projektu budou připravena a studována čistá i dotovaná fotonická skla, tvořená binárními a ternárními chalkogenidy Ge, As, Sb, Ga a dalšími, i jejich tenké amorfní vrstvy. Důraz bude kladen na studium přípravy tenkých filmů pulsní laserovou depozicí ana studium jejich optických vlastností. Pozornost bude věnována studiu fotoindukovaných změn struktury a optických vlastností, zejména optické absorpce, indexu lomu, elipsometrických parametrů, a studiu vlastností termických.Cílem projektu je hlubší poznání vlastností fotonických materiálů a jejich potenciální aplikace v optice, optoelektronice a v dalších odvětvích vědy a průmyslu.
