    The project addresses open scientific questions in the field of the dynamic response and wave propagation control of 3D printed structures when an external magnetic field is applied. The project will include the appropriate selection of printing materials combinations based on polymers and metal additives that have an optimal sensitivity of response to an external magnetic field for a particular purpose. The key scientific questions of the project are: what is the effect of magnetic particles on the mechanical, magnetic and dynamic properties of composites; how does the magnetic field affect energy dissipation and wave propagation; and whether the application of an external magnetic field can alter the spectral and modal properties of 3D printed mechanical systems or reduce energy losses in the use of such mechanical systems. The research methods will include extensive experimental work based on 3D printed structures from prepared special compounds, measurements of the resulting magnetic and mechanical properties, detailed mathematical modelling and efficient computer implementation.
