Collective Electromagnetic Excitations: Windows to Nuclear Structure

The proposed project aims to investigate the properties of collective nuclear excitations and their electromagnetic decays using various theoretical and experimental methods. The theoretical part of the project will focus on refining and extending existing microscopic nuclear models developed by our team. The predictive capabilities of these models will be tested against new experimental data, primarily from radiative nuclear decay following neutron capture, and will contribute to the interpretation of de-excitation mechanisms. Furthermore, experimental data will be utilized to assess and refine theoretical concepts describing electromagnetic transitions between excited nuclear states, which are predominantly treated within the statistical model.
