    Reconfigurable Halide Perovskite Materials for New Era of Neuromorphic Electronics

    The proposed project deals with the design, development, and optimization of emerging hybrid (organic-inorganic) semiconductor materials and devices for neuromorphic electronics, with prospective practical applications ranging from basic memory devices to electronic sensorimotor nerves. To apply such materials in complex artificial neural networks, the fundamental properties and mechanisms that occur in their building blocks (the artificial synapses) should be thoroughly studied and described. To do so, the low-cost synthesis and advanced material characterization is one of the key elements of the proposed project. Using the mimetic approach and material engineering, the proposed project will tailor the properties of halide perovskites, so that they can meet the requirements of the state-of-the-art memristive switching devices.
