History of the glass production in Czech countries
Project goals
The aim of the project is to create a modern comprehensive look at the nature of the glass production in Bohemia and its transformations in the entire process of development from early Middle Ages until nowadays both from the technological and the historical and artistic - historical points of view. This will bring the necessity to deal with, complete and evaluate all archival, historical and artistic - historical sources presently available and to confront them with the knowledge of the technology of the production used up to now in respective stages of development until nowadays. In the same time the economic and social background of the production and the historical circumstances enabling its specific development should be recorded. In order to analyze the ingredients of the glass, its similarity or difference from the glass production in the neighbouring countries we would like to use methods of chemical and spectral analysis etc. We would like to gather the outputs of this interdisciplinary proje

Cílem projektu je vytvořit moderní komplexní pohled na charakter sklářské výroby v Čechách a jeho proměny v celém procesu vývoje od středověku do součastnosti, a to jak z hlediska technologického, tak i historického a uměleckohistorického. To předpokládázpracování, doplnění a interpretaci dostupných historických pramenů a jejich konfrontaci s technologií výroby v jednotlivých vývojových obdobích. Mělo by být podchyceno i hospodářské a sociální pozadí této výroby a historické okolnosti, které umožňovalyjejí specifický rozvoj. Výstupy tohoto interdisciplinárního projektu chceme dovést do publikace, kterou přislíbila financovat Česká slářská společnost.
