    Cílem projektu je charakterizovat specifické rysy nekonvenčních osmotolerantních kvasinek Debaryomyces hansenii, Zygosaccharomyces rouxii a Zygosaccharomyces bailii na molekulární úrovni a přispět tak ke zlepšení vlastností průmyslových kmenů Saccharomyces cerevisiae. Projekt se skládá ze tří částí: (1) izolace dosud neznámých genů důležitých pro transport fruktosy, glycerolu a kationů alkalických kovů a charakterizace jejich produktů, (2) vytvoření nových nástrojů genového inženýrství pro Z. bailii a D. hansenii, a 3) konstrukce a fenotypová charakterizace nových kmenů S. cerevisiae se zlepšenými růstovými/tolerančními vlastnostmi pomocí heterologní exprese genů izolovaných z nekonvenčních druhů kvasinek.

  • Project results evaluation

    The project brought original information about the fructose, glycerol and potassium transporters in osmotolerant yeast species, and their possible use in biotechnology. The results were largely published or submitted for publication in impacted journals.No problems were found either in maintaining the grant rules or using the financial means.
