Classification with use of formal concept analysis

Project goals

The project focuses on the problem of classification using the formal concept analysis (FCA), namely constructing the decision trees from concept lattices. The emphasis is on the theory and development of methods and algorithms. The goal is to extensively explore the possibilities of utilizing FCA and concept lattices in decision tree induction and classification in general. Intended outputs of the project are new methods of classification of (large) data using FCA, theoretical foundations, extensive experiments, publications in international journals and conference proceedings and software implementing the methods.

    Projekt se zabývá problémem klasifikace s využitím formální konceptuální analýzy (FCA), zejména konstrukcí rozhodovacích stromů z konceptuálních svazů. Důraz je kladen na teorii a vývoj metod a algoritmů. Cílem je důkladně prozkoumat možnosti využití FCAa konceptuálních svazů v indukci rozhodovacích stromů a klasifikaci obecně. Zamýšlené výstupy projektu jsou nové metody klasifikace (rozsáhlých) dat s využitím FCA, teoretické základy, rozsáhlé experimenty, publikace v mezinárodních časopisech a sbornících konferencí a software implementující metody.

    The project resulted in a new method of using BFA data mining method for preprocessing of input Boolean data, utilization of the method, experimental study, and a new algorithm FCbO for computing formal concepts. In term of publications: one impacted journal paper and 4 conference papers. There are also 3 journal papers to be published.
