Models of time series and methods of change point detection

Project goals

Models of time series are useful in several areas, such as the economy, technical branches and others. One can often detect changes (in a level, in a trend, in a variation etc.) in time series of particular indices. For the purpose of change point detection in one-dimensional and multidimensional time series several methods were derived.  Change point detection using sparse solutions by the Basis Pursuit algorithm can be proposed as an alternative to conventional statistical techniques of change point detection.

    Modely časových řad nacházejí uplatnění v různých oblastech, jako jsou např. ekonomie, technické disciplíny apod. V časových řadách  řady ukazatelů se často objevují změny (úrovně, trendu, rozptylu aj.) Pro detekci těchto změn v jednorozměrných i vícerozměrných časových řadách  byla odvozena řada metod. Možnou alternativou ke standardním metodám detekce těchto změn je využití hledání řídkých řešení pomocí  Basis Pursuit algoritmu.

    The postdoc project focused on detecting changes in processes has fulfilled the declared objectives. The results are adequate to the evaluation in the final report. The suggested methods can by applied in time series (economic, environmental and others).The publication outputs cannot be denoted as excellent (e.g. only one impacted publication). 5.
