Monoclonal antibodies for diagnosis of neuronal tumours and monitoring of neurodegenerative processes

Project goals

Monoclonal antibodies against cytoskeletal proteins of neurons are used for identification of tumours or neuronal origin and represent usefull probes for monitoring of neurodegenrative diseases in body fluids (cerebrospinal fluid, serum). Aim of this project is preparation of a new panel of monoclonal antibodies against high-molecular weight MAP2 proteins, that are specific for cells and tisues of neuronal origin. Antibodies will be characterized in respect of their tissue and species spedificity, epitope expozition at different fixations and ability to interact with native MAP2 proteins. Antibodies with selected properties will be usefull for better diagnosis of tumours of neuronal origin. Panel of well-characterized antibodies will represent basis for future devolepment of a new diagnostic kits for monitoring of neurodegenerative diseases.

Monoklonální protilátky pro diagnostiku nádorů neuronálního původu a monitorování neurodegenerativních procesů

  • Annotation in Czech

Protilátky využitelné v klinické praxi umožní přesnější imunohistochemickou a imunocytochemickou diagnostiku nádorů neuronálního původu. Panel dobře charakterizovaných protilátek bude tvořit bázi pro budoucí vývoj souprav k monitorování neurodegenerativních onemocnění.
