Membrane signalosomes of mast cells and basophils - targets for innovative therapies
Project goals
The aim of this project is: 1. To contribute to determining the composition of the FceRI membrane signalosomes important for antigen-induced degranulation in mast cells. 2. To contribute to determining the composition of membrane signalosomes important for antigen-induced adhesion and chemotaxis in mast cells. 3. To determine new modulators (inhibitors/activators) of antigen-induced degranulation, adhesion and chemotaxis in mouse and human mast cells.

Annotation in Czech
Cílem projektu je 1. Přispět k určení složení FceRI membránových signalosomů důležitých pro degranulaci žírných buněk. 2. Přispět k určení složení membránových signalosomů důležitých pro antigenem indukovanou adhezi a chemotaxi u žírných buněk 3. Určit nové modulátory (inhibitory/aktivátory) antigenem indukované adheze, chemotaxe a degranulace u myších a lidských žírných buněk.

Project results evaluation
Results of this project contributed to the discovery of new biological functions of three plasma membrane proteins (tetraspanin CD9 and transmembrane adaptor proteins PAG and NTAL) in mast cell degranulation, adhesion and chemotaxis. Furthermore, the results showed that plasma membrane cholesterol in activated mast cells is involved in regulating sensitivity towards ethanol..
