Vitivinicultural wastes valorisation for biologically active compounds

Project goals

The aim of the project is to create a science-based process for representative sampling, sample preparation and processing of waste materials from viticultural practice and vinification (canes, stems, marc), analysis of samples of selected biomass of canes as well as selected biomass of stems and grape marc on the content of resveratrol, its dimers and oligomers , other polyphenols and lignans. In the frame of the project the sample preparation procedures, extraction and analysis with emphasis on the use of modern instrumental techniques (GC-MS, LC-MS, NMR) and the isolation of pure compounds by chromatographic methods will be optimized. In addition to the described trans-resveratrol and trans-?-viniferin other substances present in the biomass of canes, stems and marc will be also identified.

    Zhodnocení odpadů z vinohradnictví a vinařství na biologicky aktivní látky

    Cílem projektu je vytvoření vědecky podloženého postupu pro reprezentativní odběr, přípravu a zpracování vzorků odpadních látek z vinohradnictví a vinařství (réví, třapiny, matoliny), vlastní analýzu vzorků biomasy vybraného druhu réví, dále vybraných třapin a matolin na obsah resveratrolu, jeho dimerů a oligomerů, dalších polyfenolických látek a lignanů. V rámci projektu budou optimalizovány postupy přípravy vzorků, jejich extrakce a analýzy s důrazem na využití moderních instrumentálních metod (GC-MS,LC-MS, NMR) a na izolaci čistých látek pomocí chromatografických metod. Vedle již popsaného trans-resveratrolu a trans-?-viniferinu bude dalším cílem identifikovat další látky přítomné v biomase réví, třapin a matolin.

    During project 7 varieties of canes from 6 locations were sampled. The method of trans-resveratrol, trans-ε-viniferin and r2-viniferin determination was developed and distribution of stilbenes was studied in all sites. Extraction of Cabernet Moravia canes was studied in detail, including supercritical carbon dioxide extraction and accelerated solvent extraction. The method for isolation and purification of trans-resveratrol and trans-ε-viniferin was developed.
