Comparison of the impact of biotic and abiotic stresses on plant hormonal pool

Project goals

Project is focused on the elucidation of changes in hormonal levels associated with efficient defence against pathogen Plasmodiophora. Their identification will contribute to setting up a suitable strategy for elevation of the resistance of Brassica napus against this pathogen.

  • Annotation in Czech

Cílem projektu je objasnit hormonální změny související s efektivní obranou proti patogenu Plasmodiophora. Jejich identifikace přispěje ke stanovení vhodné strategie pro zvýšení odolnosti řepky vůči tomuto patogenu.

  • Project results evaluation

Infection of Brassica napus plants with Plasmodiophora brassicae resulted in transient elevation of auxins and cytokinins in leaves, and a longer-term increase in roots. Club formation was in sensitive cultivar associated with high cytokinin increase in this organ. Salicylic acid (SA) was higher in roots of more tolerant cultivar. Exogenous SA application prevented in this cultivar club formation.
