Project results evaluation
Selected proteins of mitochondrial energetic metabolism were analyzed in cultivated skin fibroblasts, isolated lymphocytes and buccal epithelial cells from patients with Huntington's disease (HD) and TgHD minipigs. The results are indicative for reduced mitochondrial function in peripheral blood lymphocytes in patients with fully manifested HD. Affected proteins can serve as suitable biomarkers for HD development. The results were published.
