    Theranostic nanoparticles (NP) are perspective for medicine. We tested various γ-Fe2O3 or gadolinium (Gd) based NP, in vitro and in vivo. Rise of Gd NP concentration affect 3T3 cell viability, more than in tumor or immune cells. NaGdF4:Yb3+/Er3+ @ SiO2 and FN1-DMA-AA (γ-Fe2O3 /nichel/dimethylacrylamide-AA) NP have high NMR signal. Gd NP are visible in confocal microscopy by upconvertion effect. Electromagnetic fields heat FN1 NP. MW imaging systems need upgrade.
