Application of the qualitatively new probabilistic method SBRA (Simulation-Based Reliability Assessment) to evaluate the reliability of structures for civil and mechanical engineering and its introduction in codes and design.
Project goals
The main scope of the project is to bring the SBRA method to a point that would enable a qualitative shift in the thinking of the designers, from ?deterministic? or ?semi-probabilistic? to a complex ?fully probabilistic? thinking. This shift (a fully adequate shift in the computer era) would be the first step to achieve significant qualitative changes in the design of structures and the evaluation of their reliability. The main scopes of the project include (a) prepare the complex results of the projectfor publication the form of a technical book, (b) organize a conference each year to prove the advance and to coordinate the teams from both countries, (c) regularly offer the current results to be published in the form of articles in prestigious magazines, (d) prepare the basis for a code for the design of steructures using the SBRA method and offer it for publishing in the United States.

Project name in Czech
Uplatnění kvalitativně nového pravděpodobnostního posudku spolehlivosti stavebních a strojních konstrukcí metodou SBRA (Simulation-Based Reliability Assessment) odpovídajícího éře počítačů v normách a v projekční praxi.
