Project results evaluation
In the period 2014-2019 was in the Institute of Experimental Medicine of the CAS realized the project “Center of cell therapy and tissue replacement”, supported by the National Program of Sustainability (NPU I) of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports. The center was built as an infrastructure for biomedical research and is aimed at supporting basic research in the field of regenerative medicine, biomaterials and nanomaterials. The solution of the Center enabled to acquire new knowledge in the field of cell therapy and tissue engineering and to verify new technologies especially for repair of severely damaged eye surface, spinal cord injury, bones, osteochondral defects and soft tissues. Furthermore, new hydrogel and nanofiber materials have been developed as stem cell carriers and controlled release materials for bioactive substances and drugs. The results of the Center supported the process of introducing new therapeutic methods into specific clinical applications.
