  • Annotation in Czech

Cílem tohoto projektu je připravit modelový systém pro studium onkogeny-indukovaných kolizí mezi replikací a transkripcí a s nimi asociovaných R-smyček, strukturně charakterizovat vznikající aberantní struktury nukleových kyselin, a identifikovat proteiny, které potlačují vznik a akumulaci těchto struktur.

  • Project results evaluation

Collisions between transcription and replication complexes associated with R-loop formation are the main source of genome instability in precancer cells. We showed that DDX17 helicase contributes to the restart of stalled replication forks at sites of these collisions, resolves R-loops in vitro and its depletion leads to R-loop accumulation and consequent problems in chromosome separation in vivo.
