Poškození bílé hmoty mozkové v důsledku status epilepticus v průběhu postnatálního vývoje laboratorního potkana.

  • Annotation in Czech

Cílem projektu je zjistit, jestli status epilepticus v nezralém mozku vyvolává poškození bílé hmoty, jakou roli hraje v tomto poškození zánětlivá reakce, a jak je rozsah a charakter poškození (včetně vzniku epilepsie) ovlivněn tělesnou teplotou během SE.

Results of the project demonstrate that early status epilepticus leads to progressive atrophy of temporal lobe structures, neurodegeneration and epilepsy development. The extent of hippocampal atrophy correlates with cognitive impairment but not with severity of epilepsy. Hyperthermia during SE aggravates severity of morphologic and functional consequences suggesting important role of fever.
