The molecules regulating osteoclast differentiation and their contribudion in rheumatoid arthritis bone resorption

Project goals

The relation of local and systemic expression of RANKL on T lymphocytes and the RANK and RANKL ewpression on synovial tissue cells will be studied by immunohistochemisty and flow cytometry in patients with active rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthrits. The levels of OPG evaluated by ELISA method in serum and synovial fluid will be compared in both group of patiens and related to disease activity and bone turnover markers. The between group comparison will be made.

Molekuly regulující diferenciaci osteoklastů a jejich účast při resorpci kosti u revmatoidní artritidy

  • Annotation in Czech

Bude provedeno srovnání systémové a lokální exprese moleku RANKL na T lymfocytech a hodnocení exprese RANK a RANKL na různých buněčných typech synoviální tkáně metodou imunohistochemie a průtokové cytometrie u pacientů s aktivní revmatoidní artritidou aartrózou. AnII. Bude provedeno porovnání hladin osteoprotegerinu v séru a synoviálním výpotku stanovených metodou ELISA u obou skupin nemocných . Nálezy budou vztaženy k aktivitě artritidy a parametrům kostní přeměny.

  • Project results evaluation

Authors investigated the expression of RANK/L on T lymphocytes in peripheral blood and synovial tissue in patients with RA. They correlated results with the disease activity and bone metabolism. Results suggest RANK may play a role in bone damage in RA.
