Indicators II ? reverse detection of received ionizing radiation dose by monitoring of cell population changes using biophysical methods

Project goals

To establish extrapolated calibration curve for determination the recieved dose in individuals exposed to ionizing radiation which could be practical used in the Czech army and to design the best enlistment of this biophysical method into the therapeutic-transfer system of the Czech army.

  • Project results evaluation

Using the multicolor flow cytometry technique we studied the changes mitochondrial membrane potential in dependence on the absorbed dose of irradiation under experimental in vitro and ex vivo conditions in pig. We compared the results with blood human samples irradiated in vitro conditions. We found calibration curve enables the back calculation of obtained dose of irradiation.
