The use of mealworms in animal nutrition
Project goals
The main objective of the project is to include mealworms (Tenebrio molitor flour larvae) to feed ration of animals (broilers and laying hens) in the form of a particular feed mixture. Until end of the project (2021) the feed mixture for poultry with the proportion of mealworms will be tested and verified.

The use of insects as feed is a trend and the targeting of the project on poultry is appropriate in connection with the market potential not only on the market in the Czech Republic. The Board of Opponents agreed that the objectives of the project and the results of the project were achieved in accordance with the Contract for the provision of support, therefore it can be stated that the project succeeded according to the assignment.
