Influence of MDF kinetic model and nonuniform density on 1D pyrolysis model prediction
Original language description
A compromise between pyrolysis model complexity, the number of pyrolysis model input parameters and their influence on the overall model predictions is a continuing struggle in the field of fire spread modelling [1-3]. This work is a part of the ongoing project aiming to estimate a set of pyrolysis model parameters of engineered wood products (EWPs) to be used as an input data to Fire Dynamics Simulator model of EWP boards burning and flame spread. A sensitivity study of medium density fibreboard (MDF) kinetic model and the influence of non-uniform density on 1D pyrolysis model prediction are presented here.
