Thermoelastic Stress Measurement
Original language description
The experimental investigation of stresses is one of the very important parts of the research and development from the point of view of the static strength and especially from the point of view of the fatigue life prediction. The common used strain gauges measurement technique provides stresses only in selected single points. The global view is available by using photoelasticimetry, optical methods, brittle lacquer technique or x-ray measurement. Another modern method of global stress investigation is based on the thermoelastic effect - thermoelastic stress analysis (TSA).
