The influence of stress state on the fatigue crack growth prediction in the 3D body

  • Original language description

The submitted article is concerned of a most important area of fatigue failure of aircraft structures designed under damage tolerance philosophy. Attention has been focused on change of stress state in front of the crack tip and the influence of thickness and geometry body. The influence of stress state on fatigue crack growth propagation has been evaluated in the bases experimental measurement performed on the Strength Reliability Department of the Aeronautical Research and Test Institute (ARTI). Furthermore an attention has been focused on geometry of fracture surfaces and arises of shear lips.
