Spectral Decomposition and Spectral Analysis in Noise Control of Propeller Airplains
Original language description
Spectral decomposition is a method for separating significant spectral components from complex noise signals. In the paper there is shown the use of high-resolution spectral analysis and spectral decomposition in noise abatement of propeller aircraft. Briefly described is first the latest version of experimental software pack SPAD (Spectral analysis and decomposition), which has been developed mainly for decomposing the propeller noise from the noise of propeller aircraft. Examples of high resolution spectral analysis and spectral decomposition using SPAD software then follow. Spectral decomposition needs no unique instrumentation, just a high-quality digital sound capturing or recording facility. SPAD software pack can be taken for one of the new advanced tools for noise analysis and control of propeller airplanes.
